After that time she'd gotten stuck at home for five years, Jaina hadn't exactly trusted Portalocity. She made sure she got where she needed to be to get to her portal with plenty of time. This way she could learn about any problems with enough time to threaten the appropriate people. So on days like today when everything was running fine and she'd get to Fandom when she meant to, she had time to kill. With no work to do at the moment and no one to call because she'd be seeing them all soon enough, she took a seat and pulled out her phone.

She pulled up Angry Birds, thinking she had enough time to finish up this next level before she had to go- And found that the app took her to level 1-1. For whatever reason, her entire saved game was gone.

"NO!"

Here's the thing. When a Jedi, especially a fairly recognizable one even without the usual robes, yells "no" like that in a public place, it was going to draw attention. And it did. When she looked up, she noticed she was getting stares from a lot of people who looked slightly worried.

She answered that with, "What."

Slowly, everyone turned back to what they were doing, because anything that had troubled her enough to get that reaction was probably preferable to her taking that reaction out on them.

[NFB and establishy. NOT THAT THIS EVER HAPPENED TO ME OR ANYTHING.]

It was one of Jaina's little personal rules that if it could be helped, she would wait for Zekk to fall asleep before she would dare shower. They might not be joined at the brain anymore, but they were still attuned enough to each other that she didn't want him catching any images she didn't want. So even though he was in another room, she'd occasionally reach out with her mind to see whether or not he was asleep.

So far, nope. Which meant that until he either went to bed or she went in there and clubbed him with something to knock him out, she was going to keep to her tiny room... and play Angry Birds. It was supposed to be calming. At least, that was what she told people.

Of course, Jaina, being both determined and impatient by nature, was completely unable to give up on getting to the next level, and any level that gave her trouble ended in her smacking something or making an object fly across the room with the Force. Sure, it was unnecessary use of her powers. Know what? Jaina didn't care. She hated this game, and she hated that it was addictive. Privately she wondered if Eric had gone on any killing sprees in the time it took him to get the high score she was still trying to beat, because she could see where it would be tempting.

It failed to occur to her that if Zekk was catching any of her frustration, that might be why he wasn't able to get to sleep.

[Yeah, considering I finally started playing that god damn game, this post was necessary. Open for calls or emails or the like!]

For the most part, Jaina was doing okay these days. She knew she wouldn't last and that was fine, but she was trying to enjoy the time while she had it. She was working, she was getting out more, she thought getting to know her mom this young was kind of astral, she wasn't stressing about every little thing, and she liked it. Taking her last semester to figure herself out and what she wanted to do was so far working really well for her. And if she so happened to be looking forward to graduation, when she could move on to the next step of her life, when she knew she'd be having to make some decisions in her relationship, when she could return to her normal family with about 75% less of the eyeroll-inducing complications, she didn't think she could really be blamed for that.

All right, maybe she was looking forward to it a lot, because at the moment she was playing with the countdown feature on her iPhone. 106 days till graduation, if anyone was keeping track.

Also, someone might want to stop her. The last time she started playing with her phone she ended up downloading the app that made her phone sound like a weapon from Space Battles.

[Open door, open post. I am procrastinating packing, so therefore I put up what will be a linkdrop.]

Jaina didn't emo. She could be sad, and contemplative if she really had to be, but she didn't dwell on things enough to be emo. Things she didn't want to deal with were repressed, problems she had to deal with were dealt with, and that was that. The current time situation with John was a problem, and one she was determined to get around. She couldn't fix it, but she could work with it.

She thought that maybe Leia might be relieved that her daughter had finally actually started working at a relationship she wanted to keep when threatened after a year of trying to convince her that that wasn't so scary. Then she realized Leia'd probably assumed Jaina would figure that out in her own time. Her mom was kind of awesome that way.

One of the steps to working around her problem was getting an iPhone. No, seriously. While for some reason this made her feel a little strange, since in all this time she hadn't really needed to buy into Earth tech (because it was primitive), it meant she could figure out when and where she was whenever she needed to. She'd be bouncing back and forth between here, home, and wherever and whenever John was; she was going to need that. Plus it meant she could access E-mail no matter where she was, though souping this thing up to make sure that could actually happen was out of her expertise. She found herself wishing her brother Anakin was around to do that, but she instead buried that thought and told herself instead that Lowie should be able to do that for her when she went home next.

For the moment, she was sitting on her bed- now with new and improved bedding- playing with the phone and trying to figure it out, as instruction books were for those without aptitude between receiving and making some calls.

][Mostly establishy, though the door is open if you don't mind my SP warning till after work.]</small
