Apparently, when your best friend (who you'd had a crush on as a kid, and who'd had a thing for you for an embarrassingly long time, and who you'd maybe made out with once when you were sharing a brain which did not count and was not your fault) was getting married and you felt weird about it, you got into a fight with your new husband about it.

So yeah, Jaina was having a great trip so far.

It wasn't the Zekk stuff that was actually bothering her, though. Yeah, she'd literally, physically known how he had felt about her and knowing that that wasn't true anymore was weird, but she'd gotten over that a while ago. It was more that coupled with being on Hapes early to visit with Allana, she was seeing people arrive and that meant they'd managed to get herself, Zekk, Tenel Ka and Lowie alone in a room together... and there was no Jacen. It was bothering her, and she didn't know how to articulate why, or if she even wanted to. Even though she'd have to to settle the fight. Feelings were dumb, basically.

With some time to herself, she tried to do some meditating in her and Jag's room. It was not going well, and a distraction would be welcome.

[Open for calls and texts and such! I have no work to do and it's freaking me out.]

About six months after he'd gone MIA, Zekk resurfaced. )

[NFB, NFI, I wrote this in an airport at five am la la la.]

Jaina's second- and final- attempt to stop Jacen started out badly and didn't stop there. )

[Warning for lots of violence and character death. NFI, NFB, OOC so okay you can't even believe it because ASIFHASFHADEHSWFHWGVBCVWER I NEED HUGS. Dialogue and a few bits taken from Invincible by Troy Denning.]

Jaina had only been awake for about ten minutes, and she'd already killed a man today. )

[Warning for violence, omg the violence. TROY DENNING THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU BUT TY FOR MAKING MY GIRL BADASS. NFB, NFI, OOC makes me happy. Dialogue and surprisingly few bits taken from Inferno by the aforementioned Denning.]

Zekk's surgery was taking a while. While Jacen had gone to the Anakin and Luke and Mara had taken Ben back to Coruscant immediately, Jaina was staying on Hapes till Zekk was released to go back to Coruscant as well. She told herself staying in the waiting area just meant she could be alone, away from everyone. She was beyond mad at Jacen, she was mad at Ben and scared for him and wondering if kidnapping him for deprogramming wasn't an option, mad at Mara for not putting a stop to things before, mad at Tenel Ka for standing up for Jacen, trying to figure out what might not get Mara killed, worried about Zekk...

And selfishly, that old fear was creeping back. That fear that said that even if she was left standing at the end of all of this, there wouldn't have anyone or anything else left.

Not that she was going to voice that concern to anyone, and so she was turning to distraction by checking her messages to see what she'd missed since boarding Rover. Days old message from Fandom's Ben saying May the fourth be with her (which, fine, got a smile out of her), a couple messages from her Tahiri wondering why Jaina kept calling her so much...

Returning that message took all of thirty seconds without an answer, and then Jaina was left with nothing but her thoughts again, and deciding she had to come up with a hobby for times like this.

[I am off to the Avengers for a bit, but totally open for calls, texts, emails, etc.]

The ride from Han and Leia's new apartment to the Jedi Temple was spent mostly in silence, right up till Zekk had to open his mouth. )

[NFB, NFI, OOC okay. And so begins Legacy of the Force (finally). My apologies for the upcoming spam to your flists from here on and I promise to at least try not to be too annoying. Tracy... I'm gonna owe you a pony or something.]

Ordinarily, Jaina didn't bother celebrating her birthday. Hadn't in years. But when it turned out that everything on Mon Calamari had gotten settled and done with the day before it, Zekk had talked her into staying to have one day off. Always feeling guilty for taking time to visit Fandom, she'd argued at first, but when it came down to it, she was okay remembering this one. Because while it was impressive enough that she'd made it to thirty... if her math was right, this was her last year before things went to hell. Might as well enjoy it for a day.

It turned out to be a good thing, because it'd been a long time since Jaina had been anywhere in her galaxy just to visit. By the end of the day, when she'd returned to her room in the apartment she and Zekk had been given to use here, she was even in one of those rare good moods. Mostly because she wasn't letting herself think about that whole 'last possible good year' thing and was just going to busy herself with packing to leave tomorrow.

[Open for calls, texts, and all that fun stuff. Minor SP for work! Mwahaha boss lady's gone and I finished all my work!]

Jaina had a longstanding Issue with Portalocity. Cut a girl off from a dimension for five years with no way to contact them and those Issues would develop. If there was a better way to get around, she would stop using them entirely, but since there wasn't, she was stuck. So after that email they'd sent to their customers, someone was a little paranoid. Also she wanted to slap them, and told them so in the response she sent in their feedback form, but mostly she was paranoid.

She'd been packing up to head offplanet, but had to take a second to pull out her phone and attempt to schedule a portal out to Fandom via the app. You didn't want to know how often she'd done this over the last couple days. She would never complete the transaction, but if she got as far as only needing to hit the submit button, she figured things were working fine for the moment.

And if they weren't, she was going down to the Portalocity terminal herself and causing a huge scene. She'd done it before in that five-year period. They didn't like it. They tended to try to appease her really quickly.

While she was waiting for things to load (so slow, though it might just be a weak signal), her comlink buzzed. "I'm headed down to the hangar," came Zekk's voice.

"I'll be there in a minute," she said, slightly distracted.

He paused. "Are you checking Portalocity again?"

Jaina frowned, still waiting on the page to load. "Shut up. I'll be there in a minute," she repeated, and thumbed the comlink off before he could laugh at her like she knew he was.

[Mostly establishy, but I am not opposed to people calling or emailing or what have you!]
