( In the aftermath of the Sith attack, Tenel Ka had closed things in tightly around the Fountain Palace, and Allana especially. )

( Considering just how badly Jacen had kicked Jaina's ass on Nickel One, she wasn't sure if it was comforting or not that even while healing, she could still take out four guys without getting out of breath. )

( Jaina hadn't known anything was wrong until a few days later when Luke contacted her wanting to know where Mara was. When he decided to follow her last-known trail towards Hapes, he asked her to go along, feeling that something was wrong. )

[Warning for offscreen character death and wah. NFB, NFI, OOC okay, especially hugs cuz hitting post was really hard. Most of the dialogue taken from Sacrifice by Karen Traviss, but parts were added and I think I may have ripped a lot of this apart in the name of sense-making.]

( After rendezvousing with Luke and Mara on the Jade Shadow, filling them in on why Ben needed to be grounded forever and giving their injured party more proper temporary medical attention, Tenel Ka agreed to have her surgeons work on Zekk. As they prepped his stretcher for transport, Jaina found herself alone with Mara for the first time in a while. )

( It almost worked. Almost. And maybe it did. Jaina had formulated the plan herself, put it together, the Hapan fleet had showed at the exact right time to blow the Vong flagship, thus killing the Yuuzhan Vong Supreme Overlord Shimrra which could have possibly threw a huge blow to the war... except they weren't sure Shimrra had been aboard the damn thing. )
