( Jaina had begun fighting in this war either five years ago, or two and a half, depending on who you asked on what planet. She'd taken command of Twin Suns either a year and a half or three years ago, also depending on who you asked on what planet. She'd been a fighter, a leader, a goddess, a dark side adept, she'd worked her way up to colonel and seen the worst side of herself. And when it was over, she had no idea what to do about any of it. )

( Over the last few months, Jaina had become scarily used to not being able to move when she woke up after some sort of attack. This time, though, the situation she found herself in was problematic at best, and terrifying at worst. )

( While Jaina was sure the sheer ferocity with which she trained sometimes raised eyebrows, she would have loved to point out that occasionally she had to do things like try to make her way through an unfamiliar Vongformed planet in what was brewing up to be a major storm as fast as possible while keeping up with commandos and the greatest Jedi ever, and that in itself she thought should give her reason to defend her training to her death. )

( Once the battle plan was decided, things seemed to move faster than they actually did. Almost as soon as Jaina was reunited with her parents, they were separated again as Han and Leia ran off into yet another dangerous mission on Caluula. As far as Jaina was concerned, that sort of thing was fine for her to do, but the rest of her family just needed to slow the hell down already. )

( Once the battle was over, there wasn't much left to do besides wait for new orders. And thanks to how Han and Leia had found her, neither of her parents had seemed intent on letting Jaina jump right back into work. It only took twenty years and one incident that was pretty tame in comparison to other things for them to get overprotective. )
