If Jaina had been home, she might have been able to feel it. Since she was galaxies away in Fandom, she only knew that something was wrong because of her twin bond with Jacen, but didn't know a thing about Lusa's death till Lowie called to tell her about it.
The Vong had started employing the use of engineered creatures called voxyn, sending them hunting down Jedi like Lusa. Jaina had seen her on Coruscant only a few months ago, and she really had no thoughts of "Maybe I should have called her more" or anything like that. It was wartime. People died. Even if Lusa had done nothing to deserve it, even if this was the first death of someone she'd been friends with in a while thanks to being in Fandom, that was just the way things were.
She was more upset that she couldn't be there with the other younger Jedi when they found out, especially since she knew Raynar would have to be taking it hard. They were a pretty tight-knit group, and she was just that much more displaced now, unable to do anything to really help. And she was worried about what the voxyn could mean, and while Lowie didn't give her many details either out of respect for the dead or because he didn't know, she wanted to know what they were up again. The end of her transmission with him found her really wondering what there was to do about it.
[Post is open if you're okay with SP as I have to do the work thing. Door is closed, girl is not in the best of moods.]
