Eclipse, Sunday Fandom time

If there was one thing Jaina had to show John before the trip was over, it was the Falcon. Besides, giving him the tour meant actually getting some time to themselves on a base full of people.

Not worrying at all if her inner geek showed through while describing all the systems and the modifications that she knew of (and let's face it, the odds were there were some she wasn't aware of), she led him to the cockpit, where she slid easily into the pilot's seat, just because she could. "Have I bored you yet?" she asked.

[For the boy. NFB for distance.]

John was in dork heaven, the only thing better would be actually flying it, but he was smart enough to know that wasn't happening. "Not at all. This is a really cool ship, Jaina."

"Is it really that old?" He wondered.

It was very rare that John felt small in a chair. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time he'd felt quite so small as he sat down. "Huh, I wanna see you in this chair."

"Wow, impressive that she still runs," John replied, respecting any machine that could last through half as much of what he'd already heard about. He grinned, thinking of a young Jaina in such a huge chair. "I can only imagine." It was an adorable image.

"I guess being amazing seems to run in the family," he said, deciding it would be rude if he rested his feet on the console.

"I somehow doubt you're going to have a problem with that," he said, giving her a look. "And don't think I'm alone in that assertion."

"None whatsoever." Talking to people here made him more confident that she was fully capable of anything that needed doing. He'd worry about the what of that some other time. "Learned anything new about your situation while we've been here?"

He wasn't sure what all that meant. "What I'm hearing is it's all basically the same as it was before?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"But you're not sure when that's going to be yet," he nodded. "Hopefully there won't be much more of the sitting around and waiting if you're right."

"And here I brought my Super Soaker for no reason," he teased.

John shook his head in disappointment, "Such a missed opportunity."

"Yes," he agreed easily. "What's the deal with them?"

"The tension there's kinda obvious," John admitted. "I can't imagine my brother and I would be any better in the same situation. But it's really not fair to you."

John shrugged. "Guys are complicated?" He offered lamely. He knew she wasn't looking for answers, but still felt the need to provide one. "Maybe you should tie them together."
