Last night had definitely been nice, as had this morning, which was why Jaina wasn't in a rush to get on with her day. Especially if she was leaving on Tuesday, she might as well enjoy it while she could. On the way to the Perk, she asked John, "Think the caffeine's back yet?"

"It took me half the week to detox the caffeine out of my system," John said. "We can only hope it's back."

"You sure? You don't feel better now for not having it or anything?" Having not been a big coffee fan, she hadn't been affected in the slightest by it. Yay for her.

"Not at all," John shook his head. "I'm looking forward to an even more potent high."

Jaina looked over at him. "I should be worried, shouldn't I?"

She should be, especially given the two children approaching them. "See, I told you I could sense them," Jordin said haughtily, sticking her tongue out at her brother.

"I can sense them too," said Jaryd, though it hadn't occurred to him at all to try. "Race you!"

"I win!" Jordin declared, barely avoiding smashing into her mom's legs as she came to a stop.

Her mom, of course, was a little clueless on this point, which meant all she knew was there was a weetiny child that nearly crashed into her, with another that almost crashed into the little girl trying to keep up.

"Woah, look out, you don't want to get hurt," said Jaina, who was in fact the world's biggest hypocrite.

"Relax, she was in complete control, weren't you, kiddo?" John interrupted, smiling down at the cute little girl.

"Nuh uh, she almost crashed," Jaryd said helpfully. He was ignoring the fact that he almost had, too.

"No! Daddy was right, I was in complete control," she said, giving Jaryd a look that clearly said, "HA!"

Shockingly, one word stuck out there for Jaina. "Um, wait, what was that?"

Jordin looked at her mother confusedly, "What?" There were times it was obvious she was related to John.

Jaina looked over at John quickly, and asked, "What did you call him?"

John was looking just as confused as the little girl. "Huh?"

Jaryd didn't know why they were all confused, but he was too now. "We always call him Daddy," he said. "Don't tease, it's mean."

John stared at the little boy. Then he stared at Jaina. "I don't know."

"Mom, what's wrong with daddy?" Jordin asked, concerned for her father's staring and confusion.

Somehow Jaina hadn't expected that word to be used in reference to her for a very very long time. "I hate this town," she muttered.

Jaryd turned to his sister and whispered, "Maybe we drove them crazy," even if he didn't really get how to whisper yet.

John squatted down in front of the kids, "We're not crazy, just surprised."

"Why?" Jaryd asked. Especially since Grandpa Han called Daddy crazy a lot. And then he got frowned at by Mom.

John glanced at Jaina and shrugged. "Well, uh, mommy and daddy weren't exactly expecting to see you here."

"Why?" he asked again. He might have been able to go on like that for a while.

John still hadn't had any caffeine in six days, so it was no surprise that he looked over at Jaina with a whine. "A little help here?"
