Office hours- Thursday

There were no gremlins today. Jaina had checked her office thoroughly as soon as she got in, and with the coast clear, she sat down to work at her desk.

The thing was, when you knew there was a possibility of gremlins due to experience, a check of the place didn't mean you weren't slightly paranoid that any little noise might not be the sign of something you had to kick a lot without it biting you. So, you know, it was going to be that kind of day.

"He does," she assured him. Probably because she was all the way over here and he couldn't see her. "I'm okay. I'm dealing, and I'm doing good here."

"I don't think I'm working too hard even for normal people," she said, shrugging even if he couldn't see it. "I've got a bar shift and a class once a week, I've done one Jedi thing since everything happened and that was on accident... My life's actually been super quiet."

She took the fact that it was starting to bug her as a good sign.

"The adrenaline high?" Ben was quiet. "Yeah, sometimes. And I still go for my waist when something doesn't feel right, but there are other ways to help people without being the front line of a war all the time."

"I kind of like the break every once in a while," Jaina said, not wanting to ask if he knew things that were going on there in his time now. "The stuff that happens in between is enough to keep me busy without the potential for doom."

"I leave the boring parts to Ender," Ben said with a laugh. "I help with buildings and community morale. I'm also trying to figure out how not to kill grapes."
