When the shuttle dropped Jaina off at the causeway, she had no idea what time it was, except she wasn't seeing a lot of people. She was guessing it was late. Realistically, it was probably late enough that she should just head back to her own room and worry about things in the morning, but she wasn't the slightest bit tired.

She wasn't sure what possessed her to try it- except that she didn't want to head back to her own room and worry about things later- but when she got to the dorms, she found herself trying to sense John, to see if he was even awake. Which he wasn't, but it sort of stunned Jaina that she could tell. It was a good kind of stunned, though, and asleep or not, she bypassed the third floor to head up to the fifth.

Jaina hoped it wasn't creepy that she tried the doorknob before knocking, but she didn't want to wake him up to have to answer the door. Besides, the door was unlocked. That was practically an invitation. She stepped inside, closing the door behind her, leaving her bag and shoes at the door.

Maybe Jaina's assertion that she was fine in an X-wing in battle again was a little premature. )

[NFB yadda yadda. Half the dialogue and a good portion of the space battle taken straight from Edge of Victory II: Rebirth by Greg Keyes, cuz I dun write dat good.
I also can't stop singing the Slapsgiving song.]

Not shockingly, listening to Masters debate Jedi strategy frustrated Jaina as much as it did when her brothers did it. )

[Like 95% of the dialogue taken from Edge of Victory I: Conquest by Greg Keyes. I swear I didn't write anything this long on my own and I'm very sorry. NFI, NFB, OOC okay.]

After her classes, Jaina went back up to her room to throw some things in a bag. Technically it was packing, she supposed, but "packing" should probably require putting some thought and care into it. She even made sure to leave a note for Inara to let her know where she was going and that would be back.

She still didn't even want to go right now, and wished she could put it off for a week. But it was only a couple of days. She could manage that.

With one last check to make sure she had everything she needed to bring with her, she left the room to head off to meet the shuttle at the causeway.

There really was nothing like spending your day blinking in order to lure stone angel statues away while knowing if you somehow did manage to fail at blinking you were going to get sent back into the past. Once she got back to her room, she checked her messages out of habit, not expecting to actually have any.

When she listened to the transmission that was waiting for her, she was a little on the torn side. It wasn't that she didn't want to go home. In fact, she'd been worried about when she was going to be able to go back, given that everyone seemed busy and scattered. But she wasn't even really getting down time from the last crisis and she didn't exactly want to leave now. At least it was just a meeting of the Jedi. Shouldn't take too long at all in Fandom time.

After calling her uncle back to confirm that she'd be there and would be meeting the transport they were sending, she left a quick message, then headed back out.
