Somewhere in the GFFA- Wednesday morning Fandom time

On the plus side, Jaina's quarry had been safely captured and contained in a storage closet in the rented freighter. On the not so plus side, now that it was all over and she'd stopped playing action hero, her head hurt a lot worse now.

Part of this was because of Kyp reaching over from the copilot's seat to try and staunch the bleeding. "If you'd stop moving, this would be easier."

"Well, if you would wait till I'm finished plotting our course, I wouldn't be moving so much," Jaina shot back. Yes, she was doing the flying. It was her ship, and she'd flown while blind, she could fly while bleeding profusely, thank you, no matter how many dirty looks Kyp shot her.

Like the one he was giving her as he sat back in his seat. "You're probably concussed."

"Am not." Oh, she definitely was and she knew it. That was why plotting the course was taking so long. It wasn't like this was her first or anything. "I'll put myself in a healing trance when I'm done."

"The smart thing would have been not to go in there after him," he pointed out.

"But then he would have gotten away. Again."

Stanton Rendar had been a niggling little worry for months. He'd operated a human droid replica facility, and one of his products had gone on to- among other things- blow up a stadium on Bakura, making Jaina an accessory to a terrorist act. She'd tracked him down to Onadax, where he'd been expecting her, and he blew the complex after escaping and leaving her to fight her way out. He'd gotten away that time, and when Jaina left the military to help in the post-war cleanup action, she'd asked Luke to be able to track him down as her first assignment.

"Besides," Jaina went on, "it's not that bad." Yes, it was.

"What'd he hit you with, anyway?" Kyp asked, going for her forehead again with the cloth when she sat back. Oftentimes she didn't know exactly what role he was going for when it came to her, but today he had apparently decided to do his best Han impression.

"Like he'd do his own dirty work," she griped. "One of his droids knocked me into a wall. Look, it's an occupational hazard. I'm just happy I didn't get stunned or pumped full of poison this time." Meaning she was glad to have stayed conscious this time.

"I do your job. I don't get knocked into walls."

Jaina glared, snatching the cloth from him. "Shut up and go check on our prisoner, will you?"

Clearly Kyp was used to dealing with her by now, because he even smiled as he stood. "As you wish, Goddess."

"And stop calling me that!" she yelled after his retreating form.

With a little bit of silence, she pressed the cloth back to the wound and sighed. Looked like she was going to be spending another night in a medical ward somewhere, but at least it'd been worth it.
